Possible ROH TV Deal

ROH On Versus?

There is a rumor going around that Ring Of Honor has secured a pilot deal of 18 shows on the network Versus. This has not been confirmed by any ROH official but I feel this will be announced very soon.

What do you think this will mean for the company? What do you think it will mean for TNA and WWE?

Well first off VS is not a really well known channel, I mean NHL fans cant even find it. What worries me if this pans out that ROH will have to change it's style from a work rate pure style to a more Entertainment style and lose it's fan base. Like Paul E said when ECW was growing " We are too small to be big, but too big to be small"

Why do you think that ROH appearing on television has to change the product?

I would think with ROH getting this far without changing anything, they won't have to change much for this new TV deal.

It seems to me that they are much smarter, business-wise, than the original ECW ever was.

Trust me I don't want them to change at all. If I want to see Gabe work his storyline magic I will watch FIP, I am just worried that he will try to make everyone happy all the time and you just cant do that. To me good Indi promotions are like a Micro brew, it has it niche and following, but once you go mainstream you lose something.

Good point Paul. I bet a lot of ROH fans won't want to share if the product does get bigger.

Have you followed a band when they were just playing in the local bars and clubs, you could see them really cheap and maybe have a drink with them. Then one day they get signed and instead of a $5.00 cover at the door and them 10 feet away, you are paying $50.00 and sitting in a arena and no interaction with them. That is how I feel when one of my Indies goes mainstream.

Give me my IWA-MS, PWG, IWC, CAPW, DCW, ROH, Chikara, etc and I am happy
